'strapping up' as a self defense mechanism. This may be a longer term change in the general support for gun control among Democrats, or at least a significant lowering of the support.

Or any Republican, for that matter.

There’s no political will in Congress to do anything.

And even if legislation were enacted, a Supreme Court dominated by conservative ideologues would strike-down any gun control measure.
