I still enjoy a good righteous rant, and there is no shortage of them on the internet today.
However, Im getting kind of tired of them. Yes, I hate everything republicans and Trump stand for. I am disgusted by the false equivalencies drawn between protest movements and seditious acts. And, yes, I am angered about a right-wing media apparatus that keeps a tight grip on people who enjoy manipulation and being whipped into a frothy frenzy.
Out of a scale of five, I would give this rant one star. While it contains a copious amount of explicatives, it goes on for too long. It would benefit from an edit. Or, indeed, not written at all.
These days, I prefer rants on video that last no more than a minute. Anything longer gets repetitive. My favorite ones have a segment where right wing acquaintances are told to fuck off because we are tired of discussing their shit.
While Pitts rancid paella is evocative, I see it as a purple-prose bourgeois show-off because I dont like paella in the first place, and most of them seem rancid to me. Now, I would be able to relate to a rotten apple concealed by blood-red sugar (aka an old candy apple), because rotten apples are disgusting and a thin veneer of sugar would not mask the taste or texture. Paellas reek of classism.
