The GOP strategists taking aim at BLM and Critical Race Theory snagged Woke as an insult to the left without realizing there was a growing movement of Qnuts using it to applaud themselves. The GOP propaganda machine unsurprisingly won that under the radar battle and now it is widely used to insult the left.
