(38,231 posts)I don't understand the connection between energy density and people. Are you saying there isn't enough energy to meet the human needs of all people on the earth without oil?
I'm probably missing something here because if that's it, you would have just said it that way.

If you think for a second it's not a matter of will, then ask yourself why there has been no movement toward limiting the population? The only thing that's been done is to offer more economic opportunities for women (micro-loans, that sort of thing).
China had their one-child policy but I don't know if that survived the surfeit of males.
Ask yourself why we haven't limited driving, such as we did during the oil shortage of the 70s, especially after we cultivated a work at home policy during Covid. And after we saw the dramatic results of limiting driving during Covid.
To me that is evidence there is no will to do anything about climate change, because we certainly do understand why we're going down this road.
