A letter to the editor from a WAPO article today [View all]
The article implied that Obama thought Biden couldn't win (that is not what he said).
Here is one the letters to the editor that I thought summed things up quite well:
Why are Democrats having this conversation? The cult of Trump is now 1000% behind the man they know is a failed businessman, a rapist, a traitor, a felon and a blowhard because it will seal their takeover of this feeble democracy, which began with the courts, and turn this into a "christian" nation.
It will allow big business to do as they see profitable--air, water and workers' rights be damned. I was not a Joe Biden fan originally, but he has surprisingly turned his back on the Clintons, Obama, Pelosi and the rest of the "leadership" of the party who prefer to polish the shoes of Wall Street.
Instead his administration has blocked mega mergers and passed a huge infrastructure bill that begins to address the pollution of our atmosphere. He also is the first to stand with the unions on a picket line. Medicare is finally able to negotiate drug prices, and on and on. So what if he is older and less physical? We've had a president lead a war from a wheelchair and one of our youngest presidents didn't complete his term because he was murdered. That's why we have vice presidents.
A change at this point would be suicide to both parties as the winner will remain a cult with no chance of rehab and the other, well it will have a few possible outcomes--none of them printable. Please stop the bashing and speculation if you sincerely love democracy over authoritarianism.
