(7,794 posts)Our perpetual equation, Israel criticism=antisemitism, cannot hold up to an analysis of empirical data. The equation must change. Lock-step is so often similar to goose-step. In that sense, Netanyahu=Trump=Naziism, is the more accurate equation.
The US often lives up to its promise, YEA! But at times.........not so much. US foreign policy was on the wrong side in the Indian Wars 1492-forever, Mexican War1848, the Philippine Insurrection 1899, Iranian coup d'état 1953, Vietnam War of Independence 1960-75, Iraq 1990, Iraq 2002. If we're not imposing our selfish will with military force, we're supporting some military dictatorship against the will of the people, fighting our global conflicts in proxy wars or, worse yet, using our military might to terrorize entire regions. Justice taking 3 steps forward and 2 or4 steps back. Does anyone else see a pattern here?
Most of our bad decisions were because our leaders couldn't/wouldn't own up to hard facts or deal with hard questions. Every day begins with a new dawn.
