106. I understand why this was done but

I think a lot of good duers are now gone from this board. Those that for many different reasons are not able to afford a star membership i had to join PayPal to donate, which was supposed to be a one time thing. Since doing this just a day ago my email has been flooded with different messages from PayPal. That is something I did not want and thought would not happen with a one time choice. Because of that my hubby who has been a member since 2007 decided not to use it
.and is now blocked from signing in.
We are now in a echo chamber during a critical time of this election.
A lot of good information is posted here and will not be seen by those who need it
the most. We will not be reaching out to the very ones Vice President Harris has asked us to reach out to.
This thread reminds me of another many many years ago. I referred to it as the sneechies thread. Long time du readers and members might remember it. Think Dr Suese.

Membership dues are great but in my opinion not enough to keep this site up and running. As much as many here dislike the adds, they are needed revenue . One of the perks of a star is no adds in your feed. So if we are a closed site why would a business want to advertise here.

Just wanted to point out we lost so good du members not just trolls.
