Second-hand knowledge of absentee processes going awry? (Poll) [View all]

I’m curious if anyone else here is aware of difficulties getting absentee ballots in their state — either yourself, or friends or family.

In my state, RFK Jr. sued at the very last moment to get his name OFF the ballot, causing delays in mailing out ballots.
But even beyond that, there have been obstacles and mishaps.
Two sons were going to be out of state/out of country, and they requested absentee ballots about 6 weeks ago — mailing in the request. Checking online, there was no record, no record, no record. One came back to town and voted early instead.

The other one resubmitted the request 10 days ago ONLINE — meaning they should have had it instantly — and on Monday the 28th he got confirmation that they’d received it and were processing it. It wasn’t until this morning, Saturday the 2nd, that he got a notice that “his ballot is on the way”. Until now it has just said it was in process.

The election totals show almost zero absentee ballots have been cast. https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/2024-elections/early-vote Now, this could be simply that they aren’t counted, but based on our personal experience, i am suspicious that GOP tactics have been really effective at suppressing absentees in some states.
