In the Meantime [View all]

In the meantime

Women are still dying from lack of healthcare. Women are still being held hostage to oppressive beliefs and laws. Women are still treated as less.

LGBTQIA+ children and adults live in fear. Fear of attack. Fear of being killed. Fear of not being able to be themselves. For of being themselves because being who they are could lead to their deaths.

Black and brown people are still being murdered by the police. Still having their voting rights suppressed. Still living with the white hood of white supremacy stalking their every move. They are still being attacked for simply existing.

Immigrants and migrants live in fear. Fear of attack. Fear of being killed. Fear of deportation.

And over the next four years things will get worse.

So, yeah, maybe it is darkest before the dawn, and maybe the arc of the moral universe does bend towards justice, and maybe I'll survive the next four years. Maybe you will, too.

But in the meantime...

Not everyone will.

And I simply can't take comfort in that.
