But I nevertheless I think that we have a problem with connecting to a whole lot of Americans -- and that we do a lousy job of listening to others as human beings with human concerns -- assumptions about bad motives kick in when a deeper conversation might be possible. As long as we return their assumptions and hate about us with assumptions and hate of our own, will alienate more people who actually agree with us on a lot.
