2. True, Limbaugh flourished in the 90s.

As did Gingrich and his Contract with America.

Not to mention Fox News starting up during that decade as well.

But even so, there was a certain "breather" element to the 90s, where the Cold War had ended, and we somehow naively thought all of Eastern Europe (including Russia) would seamlessly transfer to open democracy, and for a moment we just didn't feel as burdened as we did before, or how we would eventually feel burdened thereafter.

I suppose it's not unlike the four year respite we got with Biden from 2021-2025.
