62. I've already posted about what I think happened with Latinos.

I used to teach Latinos and deal with the parents as well.

They were some of the most racist people I ever met,
and the males were really fucked up.

Their view of women was tied in closely with the Virgin
Mary. This came out of the way the Spanish colonizers
treated the indigenous people in Latin America as they
brutally colonized them. The men were killed, and the
women were treated abominably, So the Virgin Mary
became their primary god, and that is still true to this
day.

This means that marriage, motherhood, and saintly
submission are expected from all women.

And then there's the way internalized oppression works.
People here have already explained how assimilated
Latinos hate immigrant Latinos and Black people because
they need to feel superior or less oppressed and identify
with white oppressors instead.

Trump and his people knew how to push all these buttons,
not by reaching out to them on a decent, human level
the way Harris and Walz did, but by triggering their need
not to feel oppressed and to identify with the oppressor
as though they would actually be exempt from the
horrors Trump and his Nazis actually have planned for them.

Very sad, but that's how it is.
