You get the idea.

How to get through it -- the anxiety of not knowing what, or how bad is next?

I decided to focus on what I could do about me and mine. I looked over my expenses and budget and figure out what I can do to put myself on the best financial footing. I don't have stocks or even any savings. I do have debt. That will be gone in a year. The mortgage was paid off years ago.

My family and friends will get my attention and concern. I will do the best I can to support whatever they are going through. Even if it involves, just listening.

Ukraine, Obamacare, Abortion, "democracy," Sexual orientation and whatever else I can't think of right now, but is probably going to "go south." I have and will have little ability to prevent damage to any of those. I am sad about the harm that will come to people affected by changes to these. But I would drive myself nuts worrying about them.

So like the airline cabin attendant said to do, when the mask drops down, take care of yourself first. Then take care of your neighbors.
