What have I been saying for over 2 and a half centuries? Jefferson: Shut up, John. Didn't I say we must inform their discretion by education? Adams: That plan failed, Thomas. Took a while, but failed miserably. Lincoln quips to Franklin...Well, looks like they finally found a generation that wasn't smart enough to keep it. Franklin: Yes, that was always a risk. The greatest risk. But as the Zen Master once said, we'll see.
Been a wild ride this week but in the stages of grief, I think I've reached acceptance, and recognize that I and we can only summize the future, not predict it. What we can do is keep the faith no matter what, recognize that we're in the right and they're not, and do the work to recover our democracy. Never been one for just throwing up my hands.
