43. I'm Rude By Nature, But . .

. . since Tuesday, I’ve noticed myself becoming more polite to people: waving them through four-way stops; thanking grocery store employees profusely for just doing their jobs; checking to see if my boss is okay; not letting anti-abortion protesters bait me. It’s not part of any plan. At some subconscious level I realized there was enough shitty energy in this world, I did not have to contribute more. It’s an adjustment, but I’m surviving so far.
