49. As a woman who is a gun owner I recommend this. As a rape survivor I heartily endorse this.

But you must clear about using it. You can not let it be used against you. And you want something easily accessible and small enough to maneuver. Male perps count on being able to get into your space by manipulation or surprise. Start thinking about physical boundaries and maintaining distances for reaction time and room. Self defense and mace/pepper spray also buy you time and should be a first line of defense.
