(15,169 posts)We need you and all of us together, now more than ever. If you have chronic anxiety, it will be harder, but yet not impossible. Acknowledge your fears, but do the work anyway that shows courage, and will inspire those around you. Take care of yourself and set realistic goals for what you can do. Getting started will overcome inertia and procrastination.
One DUer pointed to this resource (https://wagingnonviolence.org/2024/11/10-things-to-do-if-trump-wins/). I don't agree with all the author's strategies, especially a tax strike but he has many other good suggestions for what to do now. Experts on authoritarianism such as Timothy Snyder have compiled a list of strategies that worked to topple strongmen in the past, which the link cites.
I admit it is easy for someone without chronic anxiety to say, Don't be afraid. But take heart in the examples of others, and know you are not alone. If you can meet with like-minded people in any setting, any group, any size, it will feel more solid than pixels on a screen. There is no substitute for real human interaction.
