hits kind of personal for me. Over the last few years, I have been buying up older OBD1 vehicles that are in decent condition and getting them back in good roadworthy condition. People are revolting against the emission mandate expenses and the complexity it brings with it. Demand for older but reliable cars and trucks is climbing rapidly because not only the outrageous purchase prices for new cars, but the break/fix expenses over time are almost all in fixing the ridiculously complex emission systems. And out where I live, EV's are an absolute no-go and won't work for the average person. The older OBD1 vehicles are modern enough that they get good fuel mileage and still have pretty low emission output, but the systems are very primitive and easy/cheap to fix when they do take a toss.
It has become a hobby of mine and it's been fun resurrecting some of the older stuff.
