We lived downtown around the corner from the first black owned newspaper. They were burned downed during that insurrection. They rebuilt and were still there when we lived there. There is also a small museum that documents that time in history. I did not know the history until hubby's aunt came to visit from Atlanta and wanted to visit the newspaper.
