(10,506 posts)There are close races. With Provisionals, there is probably going to be an automatic recount of PA Senate race.
Wisconsin is a close Senate race as well.
There are close congressional races in the battle grounds where recounts will be triggered or can be requested.
If outside margin limits, the campaign can pay for recounts like Trump did in 2020. Harris appears to be raising money to do so.
Voters can verify their mail in votes and in a number of states their Provisionals.
They're trying to cure the Provisionals now.
Data checks should be done in the battlegrounds comparing internal campaign polls and exit polls with actual results. Highlight the discrepancies and look into them - including very red districts.
There have been other allegations/concerns raised. The Sec of State can look into some of that. Five of the battlegrounds have Dem governors so they have clear partisan authority.
Look into that stuff and like the DoJ ... follow the evidence wherever it leads.
If they don't turn up anything, due diligence has been done.
Why should anyone else be worried about checking the election if it is all on the up and up?
This is not organizing and executing an attempt at a Jan 6th insurrection.
This is exercising the lawful tools available to make sure nothing sinister has gone on.
In every election a Republican President won since 1968, Republicans have done something slippery or worse.
Trump is a career fraudster/crook who was desperate: win or jail.
That alone justifies taking a closer look.
If they do turn up something ...
Beyond Trump-Harris, at least two Senate races are close. They're very worthwhile to get right/make sure.
The House is very tight. If they could flip 2-3 seats via recounts or getting mail-in/Provisionals counted, they could flip control of the House which would be enormous to help rein in Trump. With Waltz & Stefanik departing, they might steal a seat for control there like they did in GA Senate in 2020. So it is bigger than just Trump-Harris
