(10,756 posts)I just can't believe that so many people are evil. That people are just stupid has been suggested as an alternative, but even children know right from wrong, and intelligence isn't required to recognize evil. Which leaves the problem that way too many people in the US would have to deliberately go out of their way and show up to vote, and choose evil.
Which I could accept, but I refuse to do so. Everything I've been taught and all of my experiences in my sixty years of living in the US, mostly in GOP dominated areas, says that it isn't the case. So the election results create something of an existential crisis, and the most practical way to move forward is to believe that it was rigged somehow. As poisoned as that word has become, it's the only logical conclusion, unless I am living in a world I've never seen clearly, with people I never really knew. I don't think that is the case.
I'm not going to go on about it and I know there's nothing I can do to change things, but that's what I think.
