(1,894 posts)bought into the whole masterful propaganda/ disinformation campaign weve been subjected to for quite a few yrs now., Maybe they believe drump's utterances as literal truth, maybe they dont but just enjoy the schtick and love the "stick it to the Libs" reality show. From where I sit, I see a lot of liberal-left commentary that totally underestimates the power of propaganda and disinformation - as practiced by despots, dictators and repressive regimes the world over. Dont know how many of yall out there routinely listen to RW talk radio, but if all people are hearing is THAT there's no suprirse who they vote for. But theres more to it than that. The tactic of spewing out all the outrageous, stupid, crazy, offensive utterances and lies on a daily basis has the effect of totally dominating news cycles of even the center and left media - and overpowering any message our candidate is trying to put out there. The one interview I saw of Kamala - she's trying to say some things but the interviewer keeps badgering her and steering her back to "how do you respond to this latest stupid thing that trump said." Honestly, its a small miracle she did as well as she did. HOW do we counteract that???? Do we get as offensive and ridiculous as our opposition? It kinda presents sort of a moral dilemma for those of us who have always believed in civility and fact-based discourse .
