They recognized and tolerated his lies before the election. The birther lie. The deadly Covid deception. The stolen election lie. The 11,780 vote recorded phone call. They do not view citizenship as a responsibility. They will not care about what Trump does until it harms them and then their first instinct will be to blame somebody else. Cockroaches run from the light.
