(1,267 posts)They voted for Trump because like him they are sexists and racists and he makes them proud of it.
You cannot, repeat, CANNOT reason with these people--EVER. If they ever change their minds, it will be on their own accord.
Those who voted for him are the issue, or rather are to blame for the results, not our lack of "messaging" or lack of appealing to sexists and racists because we can't "fix" them. It is not our job to change their minds because their minds are made up. There are also other things at play. There were some 8 million FEWER people who voted for Harris than for Biden. WHY is that the case? Did that many voters die between 2020 and 2024? Were they that turned off by Harris and Walz? Or was there some kind of rigging in the swing states that made the implausibility of Trump winning all of them plausible?
More important, why are so many people not bothering to register to vote or registered but didn't vote in the first place? I loathe these people even more than those who voted for Trump. There is no excuse not to be registered to vote or not to vote. NONE.
THAT is what we should be focusing on, not trying to "fix" the unfixable.
