tests from Russia at their northern border and at sea. We spent two weeks in Norway with a dear friend high up in the health ministry this June. Military service is the norm. One of her two older sons who is now a policeman left for a year-long special assignment along the Norwegian-Russian border.

Norwegians live with the tension. Fortunately for them, thanks to their nation's extensive oil reserves, they have the money to defend themselves well. That's how they are also able to have free healthcare and education.
