(2,795 posts)have been publicly saying for some time now. If a person wants to believe what's being said is not true and ignores it, then good luck.That is their business and I hope they are ultimately right. A lot of us are quite tired of trying to save people from themselves. But military-style raids and deportation camps are not just a matter of opinion or beliefs.
As for the Holocaust, you should well know that what I'm talking about is how the Nazis started chipping away at the "others" in living in Germany; their nationality and origins, ridding the country of their pestilence, scapegoating all of societies ills on them, etc, etc, etc. Camps and ovens didn't just appear overnight. I was the slow boiling of the frog that ultimately led to them.
Will that happen in this situation in the United States? My immediate thoughts are no way, that cannot happen here.
But the extremist right-wing's playbook seems to be filled with some pretty unmistakable parallels to the past and none of them are good.
