34. It's not the talking points that are the problem.

There's no such thing as the Liberal media, at least not mainstream media.

The Fright Wing has a huge megaphone that spews a fire hose of propaganda and outright lies. The corporate owned McGreedia is either owned directly by the oligarchs ( Jeff Bezos; Rupert Murdoch), or they are in the pockets of the oligarchs.

Our side doesn't appear to have any rich people who are willing to buy a mainstream media for liberal or progressive causes. 🙄

Additionally, even though there are many alternative sources of media ( podcasts and blogs; newsletters), we haven't been successful enough at getting the liberal and progressive agenda out to the people who most need to hear it. Instead, they get blitzed with the propaganda of hate and fear. Just about all the AM radio stations are Fright Wing and people who live in rural areas get blasted with this stuff every day while driving their cars. Also, many rural areas don't have good internet service, so listening to podcasts may not work for them.

And, last but not least, there are two more factors at work: fanatical fundamentalist churches which spew hatred, misogyny, and bigotry to their flock. The IRS should have stepped in long ago to take away their tax exempt status. And, for reasons that I will never understand, the people who support the Fright Wing seem to welcome misogyny, hate and economic punishment towards anyone who they disapprove of. Poison goes where poison is welcomed.

I understand that we can't change the beliefs of the most hate filled in their group, but somehow we need to reach the majority of voters who CHOSE not to vote and persuade them that the reality is that participation is the only viable way to change things. It seems that they don't see it that way because nothing changes in a way that benefits them? I will admit, I don't understand that kind of circular thinking.
