Musk feels Trump needs guidance, and there is no one else so well qualified to give it as he is.
Trump will eventually tire of this, and will most likely shut him down now that he doesn't need his money to get elected.
Besides, there is a whole world of people out there who'll keep the cash flowing in now that he 's won. Musk is just one revenue center in a world ripe for the picking.
