Before November 5th, Biden could be confident the DOJ would be run fairly under the law.
After November 5th, that confidence totally evaporated, and rightly so.

After a few post-election days of listening to maga's "it's time to get even with Biden" chatter on right wing TV and social media, he had no confidence his son could possibly get a fair trial from maga judges and courts, so he changed his mind a couple of days later than you and the magaverse may have liked to save his kid.
