6. Based on the little I know about reporters being sued

The newspaper and its owners, Gannett, would pay for attorneys. Maybe they even have some kind of insurance for these sorts of things. But since she's not actually a reporter and it's not a libel case, that may not be the case--but why wouldn't it be? She can't possibly be expected to pay this on her own. I did some googling about a legal defense fund for her and I'm seeing nothing. I don't think the case will get very far, in any case.

So ridiculous.
