I nearly bought the farm as they say about 5 years ago with an infected kidney stone. If my doctor hadn't stayed late, read my labs and reached my sons, I would have probably died at home under 2 ft of blankets. I was freezing and I couldn't hear my phone that was buried with me. My doctor contacted the ER and told them to get me directly into ICU. I was delirious the first few days there and wiped out for a month or more after. Take it easy and read all you can. There is a website called sepsis Alliance that I joined and it helped. https://www.sepsis.org/ Best wishes for a good recovery.
