that has the US flag and the Canadian flag crossed at the pole.

We are directly across from Victoria, BC and we love our Canadian neighbors. The ship that crosses the straight generally have semis of lumber that is used to build homes in the US. Hot house vegetables often come from Canada - peppers, cucumbers, tomatoes, to name a few.
