What Trump promised oil CEOs as he asked them to steer $1 billion to his campaign
Donald Trump has pledged to scrap President Biden’s policies on electric vehicles and wind energy, as well as other initiatives opposed by the fossil fuel industry.

Of course one of trump's specialties is using OPM (Other People's Money). Another article in my search indicated that the Oil Company CEO's weren't so interested in the "drill, baby, drill" part of his promise. Putting a tariff on Canadian and Mexican oil not only makes their oil more expensive to consumers, but the US government eventually gets the tariff charge we (consumers) pay. Meanwhile, trump continues to insist that tariffs are paid by the Canadian/Mexican governments to our government. It's simply another con by the con-victed criminal. Higher oil prices will increase inflation (via shipping costs) across the board and will hurt the poorest and most vulnerable people. It's also a gift to the oil industry.

We're on a moving train. "Meet the Press" panel discussion just now suggests a lowered percentage (from 25 to 10% in the charge). Also, Canada and Mexico will retaliate.
