I think it should now be clear to anyone that Edolph [View all]

feels no allegiance to any country and his only allegiance is to his money and power. It should also be clear he doesn't care what he does or who he harms to get either one. He is the embodiment of what people warned about beginning years ago when they discussed the concept of "dangerous knowledge". AI in the hands of these people like Edolph fits the bill.

The idea of "dangerous" knowledge is one that says we must, as a society, recognize that discoveries in science and applications of that knowledge may become critically dangerous to society and humans if they far outpace our wisdom, maturity and abilities to not use them indiscriminately because of the massive risk of destroying much or all of society and mankind.

There have been movies and documentaries about it. I think Edolph fits the bill for someone who should not have access to AI and other cutting edge scientific discoveries and technologies. But we are likely too late to do anything about it as long as he remains a free man and not locked up somewhere. Crumb The 1st and Edolph are the kinds of people who think it's possible to have "small battles and use of nuclear weapons" and that the world will be just fine.

AI is being deployed rapidly around the world but the people like Edolph do not care whether AI does damage to society writ large or people at the individual level. For example the ability of Rupert Murdoch and Fox News to indoctrinate minds with lies is clearly demonstrated and the damage both short and long term to individuals and the larger society has been on display for all to see and be harmed by. We are harmed by people like Edolph and Crumb The 1st and they receive the unwavering support of people who are still convinced the birth certificate of Obama is fake for example. The knowledge of propaganda and psychology that Murdoch and Ailes employed has harmed worldwide society, destroyed lives and the damage continues and new people are "programmed" by them every day.

These people do not concern themselves with whether their actions create these harms. Indeed they use those actions to create their beloved "chaos" so they can further enhance their wealth, influence and power. So something as powerful as AI technology is in being able to "create" narratives and reinforce them as fact on a massive scale should not be in the hands of people who have clearly and repeatedly demonstrated an embrace of telling lies, making false promises, claiming to be unbound by laws and to generally be omnipotent powers themselves.

But here are and what should have or could have been is in the rear-view mirror and the car is heading "pedal to the metal" towards cliffs and brick walls with no outcome likely to be a good one. But her e-mails, Joe is old and Kamala is a woman of color. Simple themes made into negatives and hammered home permanently into the skulls of people by Fox News and hate radio. AI can do that on steroids and make all of the calculations of effect and plans needed in a matter of minutes.

Meanwhile the people who see no problem with it all say that the "truth" is an antidote to the lies. But when AI/Fox News and others are screaming at the top of their lungs and dominating the media we end up with "truth" being reduced to the impact of a whisper in a hurricane. Don't think for one minute that people like Edolph don't know that.
