55. What I learned on Day 1 in boot camp was...."Never, ever, under any circumstances, volunteer for anything."

The DI's were very expert at telling us what not to do (or do) in loud, eloquent and profane terms. If you didn't pay attention they would take you into the Duty Hut and explain physically what was required.
