3. The Red State/Blue State junk is phony. It's the politicians keeping this foolishness going.

Pretty telling that you see people standing up more for the gay couple in Texas than New York in the video.
It's the artificial promotion of a vocal minority by a politician pumping up this rah-rah.
Gerrymandering districts & fixing the vote.

That's not to say regressive views aren't there but that they're being amplified beyond their real numbers.
That's why it's not good to wholesale stereotype those in the South as bigots.
There's a significant number of bigots here but there is also a significant number of people trying to kill that bigoted image.
And there's a lot of bigots outside of the South even in those so-called "Blue States"...
...EVEN if they vote Democratic.

Then again maybe the show just got lucky to find a pocket of fair-minded people in the region.
Still it's a positive sign that progress is slowly (it's ALWAYS slowly) being made.
