(11,767 posts)There were a good number of people who voted for Trump. About 62 million. I would say that about 50% (and maybe that is naive of me) were people who really were just ignorant and "voted for change" from the status quo (I.E. Jobs going overseas, Wall Street, etc... the lies about the Democratic Party). So about 30 million racists, sexists, xenophobes, and homophobes, which is still to high but about 10% of the total population. Only 27% of the population voted for Trump at all. More people voted for Hillary or for other than Trump, and that leaves about 46 million who did not vote at all, most likely because they were tired of all the ugly politics.
I know that doesn't sound that hopeful, but if you think about it. There are are a lot of people who are disillusioned about the process. We need to reach out and get them interested in social justice and get them active in politics.
