the FBI (infamous NY office?) helped Sater avoid jail time for convictions

Sater was said to be a witness in mob-related and national security matters

Sater is Russia-born

From another article it's reported that Sater's office in Trump Tower is on the same floor as Trump's office

during the primaries, Ted Cruz was trying to help the Slater / Mob story get legs but couldn't
