The event was at an automobile racetrack in Fayetteville, North Carolina.

Fayetteville is home to a HUGE Army post and Air Force base. The Army post was named Fort Bragg for the Confederate General Braxton Bragg; it is now Fort Liberty. The AF base is named for an Air Force pilot who died in WW I. They are co-located because Fort Liberty is home to the 82d Airborne Division and 18th Airborne Corps, which depend on USAF aircraft to fly them around the world where they jump out.

Here is a clip from the Fayetteville raceway schedule:

September 21, 2024: Carlton Lamm "Big C" Memorial Race with Carolina Clash Super Late Models

The race was named for Carlton Lamm, a poor boy who made a mint in the auto dealership and dirt track racing businesses. Fayetteville Motor Speedway is a dirt track. For those of you not familiar with "dirt track racing" it means exactly what it says -- cars race on a track that is DIRT, not paved -- and there's a huge following.

And you can bet the place was packed with Trump voters from Carolina and from the dirt track world as well as a large contingent of troops from Fort Liberty and Pope AFB.
