Making an assumption that they want the pension to include retroactive credit for all the previous years since it was replaced by a 401K ten years ago instead of starting back up new.

Since the 401k plan includes company contributions as well as anything they put in, that would mean they expect Boeing to fund two retirement plans for that 10 year period. I can't see any employer going for that.
