that suggests the kids were "very active in the community" and that suggests they may have been quite insulated... i.e., an insular family setting which CAN breed resentment.

Not all who home-school are such and plenty work hard to make sure their kids are well-balanced in both their education and exposures to community/friends. So, if I touched a nerve, please take that clarification. Still, a lot who homeschool SHOULD NOT BE.
