I really like the Post and it was a tough decision. But the timing on this is just reprehensible on the Post's part. Had they done this last year or even six months ago, I probably wouldn't have canceled it. But I had to given what the circumstances are and the consequences. The big problem, which both the Post and the L.A. Times don't seem to realize, is that Trump will see these two events as boosts for him and trumpet about them. The papers should have thought this through more thoroughly. Too bad they didn't.
