Seems the past four or more governors were either in the US House or had been elected and served statewide offices--the exception being Hickenlooper, but he'd been mayor of Denver so that gave him some statewide recognition.

Sadly, name recognition matters, and gawd help us if the RW cretins. like Boebert (and others) get a boost for this reason only.
