WASHINGTON - Businessmen Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy will meet with House Republicans next week to discuss cuts to federal government spending, among other matters.
The move comes as the pair were tapped by President-Elect Donald Trump to head the Department of Government Effiency. Trump wrote in a statement that the new department’s focus will be to “dismantle Government Bureaucracy, slash excess regulations, cut wasteful expenditures, and restructure Federal Agencies - Essential to the 'Save America' Movement.”
House Speaker Rep. Mike Johnson, R-La., shared on X, formerly Twitter, that he will host the pair on Dec. 5.
“Looking forward to hosting @elonmusk and @VivekGRamaswamy next week on Capitol Hill to discuss major reform ideas to achieve regulatory rescissions, administrative reductions, and cost savings—& revive the principle of limited government! @realDonaldTrump has made this possible!” Johnson wrote.
