1. Watched the video of the collapse and ummmmm

Very sad to say that 'trapped' is a pretty optimistic description of the situation For there to be this kind of destructive shaking this far away from the epicenter I have to think it does not bode well for the areas much closer to it

Edit: after reading more, the impact may be worse in Thailand as earthquakes are more rare there so building codes don't call for earthquake-proof buildings. Myanmar is much more seismically active and probably has stronger buildings due to past history of a lot of strong quakes.
