17. I taught both 4th and 1st grades

Until about 10 years ago. I never saw this at my school. However, when the teachers were at lunch they would say stuff like this. My favorite quote is from a fellow 1st grade teacher who was about to retire, "The nut doesn't fall from the tree" implying crazy parents produce crazy kids. We also would tell each other, "I wouldn't be surprised to see him on the news when he grows up".
