I hope you can check out the movie. It's unlike any documentary you will experience. It's a meditation in itself.

Richard Gere* and Blair Brown are the narrators. Their voices are incredibly soothing. To me the visual images that are used to explain The Buddha's life story are ethereal and mesmerizing.

After studying Zen for five or six years,[87] he and Brazilian painter Sylvia Martins traveled in 1978 to Nepal, where Gere met many Tibetan monks and lamas.[50] He then met the 14th Dalai Lama in India[87] and became a practicing Tibetan Buddhist (specifically of the Gelugpa school)[87] and an active supporter of the Dalai Lama.[7]
