In reply to the discussion: Our Thanksgiving Dinner has been canceled. [View all]PennyC
(2,314 posts)9. My Thnaksgiving will be small this year
My 35-year-old son-in-law had a cardiac arrest Oct. 11th. Perfect health, no history or even family history. He's been at Mt. Sinai NYC since then. They had him in a coma and on a ventilator. However, there seems to be no damage of any kind. He had a week of in-patient therapy, and went home this past Tuesday.
He and my daughter will be feasting today at my sister's in Manhattan. I really miss them! We get them for Thanksgiving every year because it's the non-religious holiday (her dad get Chanukah and his parents get them for Christmas).
I'm very happy that Ryan came through with flying colors! Don't know when he'll go back to work...he had just made partner at DeLoitte...I think anxiety may have been a part of why it happened.

That is tough. Hope this year brings you some peace, but understandably not easy.
