I would talk to my husband while he was at work and we'd ask each other, "Who killed Nanna Birk Larsen?!?" (that's the victims name in the Danish version) We couldn't wait until the end to find out.

The second season of the Danish version was good but it took me half the season to really get into it. It didn't help that the English subtitles were rife with misspellings and grammatical errors. The third season comes out next year, I believe.

Someone else mentioned the Swedish/Danish show "The Bridge" -- that's a great one, too.
