...This book is about senseless killings and starvation of Native Americans...One section about the killing
of women and children by a group of.... American Cavalry Soldiers.. for no purpose whatsoever..
stopped my reading completely...It was not even the Wounded Knee Massacre...it was another massacre..

...At that point, (It was in the 1870s or 80s) ....our soldiers got drunk, and went into the camp, all the men were out hunting, so the soldiers killed all the women and children and old men that were left in the camp.
....Sand Creek Massacre .....warning...awful reading and tragedy..!!!(of course you don't know about this because it was never taught to you...was it?)

Now at that point in the book, 2/3rds of the way through, I put it down and never read another word..
I was going to have my students read that book, but I didn't have them read it...Yes, I did have my
students watch ..Night and Fog...warned them...32 minutes of total horror...(any that did not want to
watch, were given a pass to spend the time if they wanted to ...in the library..)

...I warned them, but as the review says...at the end some were screaming in horror....I doubt they will
ever forget that movie..because the moment after someone showed it to me,...I never forgot it..
